Back-to-Back Double-Doubles Earn Johnson League Recognition
HUNTINGTON, Ind. – Huntington senior Kaden Johnson has been named the Crossroads League Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant performance at the annual Ness Bros. Hall of Fame Classic.
The 6-11 forward was unstoppable in HU's 82-71 win over No. 12 Pikeville on opening night, pouring in a career-high 25 points on an efficient 10-for-12 shooting, while also grabbing 10 rebounds to secure the double-double.
Johnson carried that momentum into Saturday's matchup, tallying 16 points and 11 rebounds in another double-double effort to help the Foresters secure the weekend sweep with a win over Spartanburg Methodist.
For the week, the senior averaged 20.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks, and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting a blistering 75.0 percent from the field.
Next up for Johnson and the Foresters (5-1) is a road trip to Cornerstone University on Saturday.
