Foresters Start Season With Sweep Over Judson
Huntington, Ind.- The Forester men's tennis team captured their first win of the season with a strong performance over Judson, a 7-0 sweep, in the opening match of the fall.
In singles, the Foresters came out sharp. Julian Tantera earned a straight-set win at No. 1, while Santiago Sarudiansky, Martin Capdevilla, Pablo Lopez Real, and Javier Lopez Real rolled through the middle of the lineup to put Huntington in control. At No. 6, Juan Carrasco closed the door with a tight two-setter.
Doubles play sealed the deal early on, as Lopez Real teamed up with Tantera at No. 1 and Capdevilla paired with Pablo Lopez Real at No. 2 for comfortable wins. Paul Reupke and Marco Silveira added the finishing touch with a 6–4 victory at No. 3.
Huntington's victory marks the move of the Crossroads League main season moving from the fall to the spring. Huntington will compete in five matches this fall, before starting the conference matchups in the spring.
The Huntington University Foresters compete in 18 intercollegiate sports for men and women.
