No. 10 HU Dominates No. 16 Marian on the Road
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The No. 10 Huntington men's tennis team earned a signature road win Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 16 Marian University 6–1 in Crossroads League action in Indianapolis at the Healthplex.
After dropping the doubles point, the Foresters responded in dominant fashion during singles play, winning at all six courts to run away with the team victory.
At No. 1 singles, Julian Tantera highlighted the comeback effort with a gritty three-set win over James Ashworth, rallying 4–6, 6–3, 6–2. That result helped spark momentum across the lineup.
Huntington continued to take control with strong performances throughout singles.
Santiago Sarudiansky earned a straight-set victory at No. 2, while Martin Capdevilla followed with a composed win at No. 3, including a tiebreak finish in the second set.
The middle of the lineup proved decisive, as Mateo Batista battled through a three-set match at No. 4, and Javier Lopez Real added another hard-fought three-set victory at No. 5. Juan Carrasco capped off the dominant singles showing with a straight-set win at No. 6.
With the win, Huntington adds another Top-20 victory to their resume and improves to 12-3 overall which includes a perfect 3-0 CL record. HU returns to Klopfenstein Courts on Monday to host Grace at 4:00 p.m.
