Bio
Dave Neuenschwander joins the Foresters as an assistant coach, bringing more than 30 years of teaching and coaching experience from his career at Adams Central High School. A seasoned educator and mentor, Dave has spent decades shaping student‑athletes, and his depth of knowledge makes him a tremendous asset to the HU softball program.
Dave is a 1987 graduate of Huntington College, where he was an All-Conference infielder for the Forester baseball team. His strong baseball background will directly support the development of HU’s infielders, as he adds technical instruction, leadership and a wealth of game experience to the staff.
While Dave’s primary role will include coordinating team transportation, he will also be heavily involved in player development on the defensive side of the field. His unique blend of baseball expertise, calm guidance and long-term coaching perspective makes him a valuable resource for Coach Averill and the entire staff.
Dave’s life in education extends beyond his own career—his wife, Christy, is a third-grade teacher at Salamonie School in Huntington County. Together, their shared passion for teaching and supporting young people shines through in Dave’s approach to coaching and team culture.
