(RV) Foresters Drop League Opener to No. 20 IWU

HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The #RV Huntington women's tennis team fell 6–1 to #20 Indiana Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in the Crossroads League opener at Klopfenstein Courts.

The Wildcats seized early momentum by sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the opening point and take control heading into singles play.

IWU carried that momentum into singles, winning five of the six courts to clinch the team victory. Despite the final score, the Foresters competed well across the lineup, with multiple closely contested matches throughout the day.

Huntington's lone point came at No. 5 singles, where Ashley Bucur delivered a strong performance with a 6–1, 6–3 win over Maria Oliveira. At the top of the lineup, Isabella Herrera battled in a three-set match before falling 4–6, 6–4, 6–4 at No. 1 singles.

With the loss, Huntington drops to 6-9 overall, 0-1 in CL action and will look to regroup as conference play continues Tuesday against Saint Francis at Wildwood Racquet Club. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m.
