HU Drops Decision to Ranked Marian Squad
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The #RV Huntington women's tennis team fell to No. 11 Marian on Friday afternoon in Crossroads League action, dropping a hard-fought match on the road at Indianapolis' Healthplex.
The Foresters battled through both doubles and singles play but were unable to overcome Marian's depth and experience. Huntington showed resilience across the lineup, earning valuable experience against one of the conference's top teams as they continue league play.
At the top of the doubles lineup, Isabella Herrera and Yariange Bello represented Huntington at the No. 1 spot, enjoying a 5-4 advantage before play was halted once the Knights won the doubles point.
In singles play, Marian captured five of six matches to clinch the team victory Ashley Bucur recording HU's lone point by posting a strong comeback win at No. 5, rallying to defeat Jimena Rivera Flores 2–6, 6–2, 6–0.
With the loss, Huntington falls to 7–10 overall and 1–2 in Crossroads League play. The Foresters return home Monday to host Grace, aiming to bounce back on their home courts.
