MVNU holds HU scoreless in 4-0 affair

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio – The HU men's soccer team (5-6-4, 2-3-1) never found back netting Saturday afternoon at Mount Vernon (7-8, 2-4) on the way to suffering a 4-0 loss. It's just the second time this season the Foresters have been held scoreless.

It took the Cougars 22 minutes to score their first goal. The 1-0 difference held through intermission before MVNU loaded up on three more goals in the final 45 minutes to make for a lopsided affair.

While Huntington was able to generate 13 shots on the afternoon, only four were on target. HU was also on the plus side of a 7-1 corner kick difference but was never able to capitalize on the advantage. At the other end of the pitch, Lawson's squad gave up 23 shots with all but six on goal.

Luis Costa took the loss between the poles for HU. He finished with 12 saves for the match.

The Foresters have their work cut out for them next Saturday when they host #5 Grace at 7:00 p.m.
